So it’s the end of September and I am nearing the end two months of school here at IHOPU and so much has happened! I have been so blessed to live in a wonderful house with great women of God! It’s been so nice to live in a home again! We have a HUGE kitchen and I find myself there most of the time cooking new things and starting up a small baking enterprise. You name it, I’ll bake it! So far I’ve tried new recipes such as, chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin bread, chocolate chip banana bread, lemon poppy seed muffins with an orange glaze, and honey whole wheat bread!! It is such a testament of the Holy Spirit to be able to bake all these things and to do it well on the very first try.

I pray over everything I make, asking that Holy Spirit would increase and bless those to whom the baked item would find its way. It might seem silly but I have learned that even in giving our all to the Lord (yes even baked goods) it is honoring to Him!Even ask my sister Emily, I would always have her get stuff out of the oven or brown hamburger because I didn’t want to do it. I think then I was scared because it was too hot… LAME! Well ever since working in a commercial kitchen at Bethany College of Missions this past year that fear has been taken away PRAISE THE LORD! After giving a few samples to my fellow students I had the idea to start selling them! Business is increasing and I love to bless others with what the Lord has given me the skills to produce.

So what is it I do down here at the International House of Prayer exactly? Well first of all we pray! Monday through Thursday morning I spend 3 1/2hours in the Global prayer room where we as a corporate body interceded for things happening around the globe. Every Monday through Wednesday I have a class from 10-noon called the Forerunner curricular Curriculum which is the foundational teachings here at the International House of Prayer. I have been so gripped with the reality that the same power that raised Christ form the dead lives in me! Holy spirit dwells in my inner man, my spirit.

I have been so wrecked by Revelation 4, the picture of the throne room. John is called heavenward by a voice that says to him, “Come up here”. He looks and sees that there is one seated on the throne with the appearance of jasper and carnelian stone. It is there that the twenty-four elders and four living creatures look with their eyes with in and around them at the beauty of the Creator. They never cease in their praise of the Lamb. One of my teachers here, Allan Hood told us one week that these un-fallen creatures (meaning that they have no sin, they are not human) are not forced to worship before the throne. Rather they remain there because they know that nothing is better than to gaze day and night at the Holy uncreated one. But was is even more amazing is that there will be a “governmental shift in heaven when the bride of Christ comes into full maturity. WE will take our places in heaven around the throne in night and day intercession before the Lamb who was slain. In the following chapter, Revelation 5:10, it says that he has “made us a kingdom and priests to out God and they shall reign on the earth”. Jesus is coming to reign on the earth; we will be partnering with him and helping to build his kingdom on earth. Oh there is so much more I have learned, but I will impart at a later time!

I have been so blessed already during my first two months as a student; I hope to get involved as a student volunteer for Exodus Cry, which is an organization, affiliated with IHOP that works to stop the global sex trade. I encourage you if you have not heard of human trafficking to please check out the exodus cry website! Slavery is even more prevalent on this earth today than at anyone time in history. Benji Nolot, the director of Exodus Cry, and his crew are in the process of finishing up a documentary about the global sex trade that is scheduled to come out in December 2010. I am so excited to get involved with this ministry, I am still waiting for a few emails but I hope to hear back from Benji soon about what I can do.

Also I will be going to Southern California November 4th-11th to help prepare for the Fight conference. This is a conference to help college students establish houses of prayer on their campuses around the nations. The students at IHOPU will be a missions-strike force that will help to prepare the surrounding area, and we are praying that during this trip another Jesus Movement will be birthed in California and spread throughout the nation. The trip will cost $500 and I know that the Lord has called me to participate on this trip. I will need to raise the money by mid- October. Checks can be made out to IHOP-KC! I am so excited for what the Lord will do!

As I close this post I have a few prayer requests for those reading,

-That the Lord will continue to give me a spirit of revelation and knowledge of his word

-Grace in this season of prayer and fasting, adjusting to an intense schedule

- Provision for the California trip

-More songs from heaven, as I continue to write and record my music

-A deeper hunger with the word

Thank you all so much for praying! I hope to write soon!

Filled with desire for HIM alone,

-Julia Engebretson
